Wrong winner announced on Australia's Next Top Model

The live final of 'Australia's Next Top Model' ended in disaster when the host of the show announced the wrong winner.

According to the Daily Telegraph, host Sarah Murdoch revealed that 19-year-old Kelsey Martinovich had won the show, in front of a live audience of 2,000 people at Sydney's Luna Park.

She then became aware of the fact that she had announced the wrong winner and had to apologise to Martinovich, while telling 18-year-old Amanda Ware that she had actually won the show.

Murdoch said: "Oh my God, I don't know what to say right now... I'm feeling a bit sick about this."

"I'm so sorry about this, oh my God. I don't know what to say. This is a complete accident, I'm so sorry. It's Amanda... it was read to me wrong."

"This is what happens when you have live TV folks, I'm so sorry, this is insane."

Martinovich said to Ware: "You won it's fine... it's ok, it's ok, it's an honest mistake, it's fine."

The prize for the winner of 'Australia's Next Top Model' was a shoot and cover for Harpers Bazaar, a modelling contract, a $25,000 campaign with Levis, a car, $20,000 cash and a trip to New York.

In an attempt to compensate Martinovich for the blunder, Fox said that the runner-up would receive $20,000 and a trip to New York.

List of men you shouldn’t marry

Thinking about taking the marriage plunge? Then you won’t want to miss this guest. Father Pat Connor talks about his new book, “Whom Not To Marry.” Is love enough to sustain a relationship? Why do so many marriages fail? He answers those questions and more.

So you love your fiance, but is he the right person to marry? Well, Father Pat Connor, missionary, marital expert and the first priest ever to be quoted by Glamour magazine, sure knows the answer.

The Australian-born Catholic priest, now based in New Jersey, has condensed his wisdom from 40-odd years of counselling engaged couples into one manual of advice—Whom Not to Marry.

He has conducted premarital counselling and presided over more than 200 weddings.

He also lectures high school girls on the pitfalls of marrying the wrong guy.

And he likes to catch wo men young, because once they have fallen in love they will be less likely to absorb his sensible and often unromantic advice.

He believes there are no soulmates, only lovers to whom we commit.

Connor's central thesis is that you can be deeply in love with someone to whom you can't be successfully married.

He advises a year-long engagement to examine fully the values and character of your future spouse.

And Connor's 'whom not to marry' list is as follows:

1. Mummy's boys

2. Men who are bad with money

3. Men with no friends

4. Men who put you down in public

5. Men who are rude to waitering staff

6. Men unable to laugh at themselves

7. Men unwilling to share authority

8. Men who never make demands countering yours

Twins who astounded doctors when one was born white and the other black start school today.

Marcia Biggs inherited her mother’s fair complexion, while Millie takes after father Michael, 43, who is of Jamaican origin.

The four-year-olds’ mother, Amanda, 42, who conceived through IVF, said: ‘I still get the same puzzled looks and questions. Even teachers at nursery refused to believe they were sisters.’

She also added: 'People just can't believe they're related, let alone sisters.'

The girls would get a warm welcome at ‘inclusive’ Osborne primary school in Birmingham, said headteacher Michelle Gay.

Hungarian Miss Spring refused to sell virginity

Virginity ... auctioned on internet

A young woman from Hungary, which is to auction off her virginity, refused to continue bidding after she was attacked by four men, says Austrian Times. According to the 18-year-old girl, who calls herself Miss Spring, the incident occurred near her home.

The Hungarian girl who offered to sell her virginity to the highest bidder in a live TV auction has pulled out after getting a savage beating from four men.

Bidding had risen to 26,000 pounds on the Hungarian Tabu TV station, but six hours before it was due to close she was attacked by four men at her home in northern Hungary.
She said: "They dragged me into an alley. They said they were going to rape me, they cut off my hair - but they ran off when somebody came by. They said they were going to take what they wanted for free. I was terrified. I have cancelled the auction - I don't know what to do now."

The girl who admitted she is now 18 but has so far not given her real name said she was also unhappy about the way the auction was being handled.
Miss Spring added: "I was hoping to save my family and our house using the money, but not at the price I'm paying emotionally. The world of the media, going public like this is not as easy to do as I had thought.

"During the auction process I did not have the possibility to monitor who made the bids and Tabu TV did not alow me to get in contact with the individuals.

"I wanted the person that won to know me - but all they have is a picture and I don't know them - they will be a stranger. I wanted a say in whom to accept bids from and whom not.
"I have had hate mail, the TV station has given out info I did not authorise, and now after the attack I am scared."

"We faced losing our home and being on the street. I want to be able to pay back those loans - that's why I came up with the idea for this auction.
